6. Misconceptions: what heating oil shelf life does NOT mean

Heating oil shelf life is not a fixed date like an expiry stamp on food packaging, and it is not the same thing as winter diesel cold-weather grading. The two are often confused: winter diesel describes how well a fuel resists gelling in cold temperatures, not how long a fuel can sit in a tank without losing quality.
